Just as our babies grow quickly from toddlers to adults, our own lives move forward and we suddenly realize senior assistance may be needed for our aging parents. Perhaps they are just beginning to need help, or they may be smack dab in the middle of a health crisis that will require immediate senior assistance. If it is the latter, you will most likely be in a hospital situation and should have access to a social worker who will be able to counsel you and offer local resources.

Where can you find other senior assistance? The Administration on Aging offers many good resources to help a family make sure their aging parent is receiving good senior assistance. They offer a link to the eldercare locator that offers a database to search for local care by zipcode, city or county. They also link to the Benefits Check-up that takes you step-by-step to make sure your loved one is not missing out on any benefits or programs. There's a lot of resources for seniors out there, it's great that there are agencies out there to help because care giving can be tough, sometimes.
